First, we'll learn to recognize 7 of the most common Thai letters. Later, we'll work on pronunciation
The name of this letter is CHICKEN. It looks a lot like the head of a bird. Can you see the beak? CLICK on the CHICKEN.
This letter is called the FISH. It doesn’t look like a FISH, but it does look a lot like FISHhook. The circle is the bait on the tip of the FISHhook.

This letter is the CHILD. Try to imagine a boy dressed up as a one-eyed ghost for halloween. Can you see the big eye-hole in the center?

Next up is the LEAF. This letter definitely doesn’t look like a LEAF, but it does look a lot like a bucket or a basket so imagine it’s a bucket full of leaves.

Let’s check to see if we remember what we’ve covered so far.
First, run through all these letters in your head and see if you remember what they are without any prompts. After you’ve done that, CLICK on the CHICKEN. Make sure to spend at least 20 seconds going through all the letters below and seeing if you remember what they are or not. If you don’t, make a note of it somewhere.
Next up, is the TURTLE. Notice the dent on the top of his shell? Now, imagine a TURTLE with a dent going down the back of his shell. When it rains he’s going to have a little river of water running down his back.
Remember the mighty TURTLE with the dent in his shell? Can you pick him out of the lineup below?
Finally, we have the BASIN. You’ll definitely need to use your imagination a bit for this one. The BASIN is actually the large barrel-like container full of water you’ll find is used for bathing in Thailand in areas where they don’t have running water.
